Free Palestine.

“From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

Not too long ago, this website was hosted on CloudFlare’s free “pages” plan. I decided to move away from this in lights of recently realising that the company is based in Israel and outside of the fact that I’m not entirely sure I want to be funneling all of the data that comes in and out of my website through a company that’s tied so closely with military and federal enforcement in any country, I also really don’t want to have any of my stuff attached to Israel in general.

It’s also a fact that I knew I wanted to talk about the ongoing genocide and to express my opinion that the people of Palestine not only deserve better but are being constantly propagandised about in all of the Western media I’ve seen on it, and I knew that if I was hosted on an Israeli hosting provider that doing so would cause them to terminate my account anyway.

Now, I’m not an expert in any of this stuff but I have done many hours of research and spoken to a lot of people about what’s going on right now and I don’t believe it’s remotely deniable at this point that Israeli officials want nothing more than total devestation for the Palestinian people and everyone should be using their voice to try to make any difference they can.

As well as that, it’s also pretty obvious that the reason why the powers that be in the UK/USA are so hell-bent on bending over backwards to support Israel no matter how far they take their assault is because they want as much control in the Middle East as possible. It’s also why Israel has been a massive part of the weapons manufacturing and cyber security industry in the world for the years that it has.

Zionism =/= Judaism =/= Semitism

Sadly despite these things being extremely obvious in my view, there are still a lot of people both online and in my real life that hear anything remotely critical of Israel and immediately jump to calling the person that levied those criticisms an anti-semite.

Firstly, “Zionist” is not a synonym for “Jew” and I know that because I am friends with so many people that are proud of their Jewish heritage and have expressed that they are anything but Zionist in their views. It doesn’t take a long time looking around online to find examples of even Orthodox Jews expressing their support for the plight of the Palestinian people.

Secondly, it’s quite rich to suggest that those fighting for actual peace for those being genocided are anti-semites while the people that are actually being genocided are semites themselves. The Israeli state has propagandised so effectively that they’ve convinced a great many people that both “Zionist” and “Semite” are simply synonyms for Jew while they actively exterminate a people that fit right into the category of what a Semite actually is.

Nothing about these calls for freedom have anything to do with anti-semitism and to defend that point while seeing the undeniable reality unfold right in front of us all over social media is absolutely fucking disgusting. Frankly, it was always indefensible but the longer this goes on the more and more absurd it is that Netanyahu and others would play victim in this situation.

Closing Thoughts

At the end of the day I wish to see an end to exploitation and especially genocide of any being with a conscious experience whatsoever, and right now no one is going through it like the Palestinians are.

Please, don’t be silent while you watch others be oppressed in any way whether that be big or small. Speak out for those that need it even if it feels like you’re going to be ostracised for it, because that’s the right thing to do.
