These Insomniaks aren't to be slept on!

Since the last blog post I’ve joined a Twitch team named Insomniaks and designed a logo for us, started streaming on a schedule and heavily optimised and updated my site. The intention is that by the end of this year I’ll be in a much better position financially and won’t need to rely on many things that I do now.

I’ve never actually spent a large amount of time consistently streaming, least of all with a schedule where people know roughly when to expect me to turn up. The last time I came close to that was over 10 years ago in my TF2 days but even then it was extremely inconsistent and was never even attempted on a schedule.

Another Pivot

In a previous blog post I spoke about how I was going to try to slot myself into a cyber security position at a company if I could and I really believed I was going to be able to do that if I worked at it. Now after more research and understanding, I realise that it’s already extremely unlikely that any of these companies would risk hiring me with a chronic condition and even if they did it wouldn’t be a stable setup.

This would all be good and dandy if I wouldn’t likely need to go to back to college and then university just to get enough qualifications to maybe get one of these positions, which I’m also not sure if I’m capable of. With that said, what I am capable of is working on my own schedule because if and when I do get a migraine I can leave at any time and no one is going to bollock me.

Something I realised about myself years ago made a resurgence in my mind and I’m now steadfast on working for myself and making it work. My confidence has been greatly boosted since starting on this streaming schedule because it turns out with the ability to leave at any time, I’ve been able to roughly stick to a schedule for quite some time now.

I’ve always had trouble sleeping on a specific schedule and partially due to that the ideal timing for my streams to start is 11PM UK time, which obviously isn’t ideal for those living here to watch but it’s pretty okay for the Americans! Still, while my schedule is then, that doesn’t mean I have to only stream at these times, and that’s why over the past week or so there’ve been streams at 9-10AM and similar times in the Co-Working & Study category.

I’ve been working on posters & flyers, single & album covers, Twitch overlay assets and the website itself on stream and I must say it’s quite theraputic, especially when the migraines leave me be.

So What’s My Point?

I say all that to say I realise I need to work for myself if I ever want to be remotely comfortable and I’m lucky to know what I’m doing with all the tools needed to stream to Twitch and have such an extensive network of people on there too, so let’s really give it the try it deserves.

By the end of this year I’m going to be in a very different position than I am now even if it kills me and I hope to see many of you at the end of it!

The Looming Threat Of “AI” Oligarchs

I didn’t want to start out with this part because it’s kind of depressing to think about the fact that there’s such an enormous portion of the population in the world that seems to think M*sk and similar people are anything but greedy pathological liars larping as geniuses in order to get people to support their dumb ideas and allow them to continue to subjugate and exploit the working class.

It used to be a kind of funny thing to make fun of, but being that very recently Trump got back into office and effectively appointed this (allegedly) ketamine addicted dipshit into the position of God King himself it seems a little in poor taste to poke too much fun.

I won’t go into a lot of detail in this post about the unprecedented damage these losers are doing the American society (and the world at large I’m sure, since what America does sadly affects all of us) what with the fat fingered dismantling of essential services and blatant misunderstanding of the basic systems that they even run on, but I will say that Musk has repeatedly got online to show how little he actually knows about any of the shit he constantly tries to pretend he knows everything about.

M*sk while handing the keys to millions of Americans private data to a bunch of obsessive Musk stans that are barely out of high school and are wildly unqualified for even a job in government at all and removing a lot of highly qualified people that actually knew what they were doing has been treating it like he did Twitter by constantly trying to suggest that everything is inefficient and when tasked with explaining how and what the solution is, he puts his foot in his mouth and shows anyone with even a little bit of a tech background that he’s full of shit.

For example he remarked recently on Twitter that he “just learned that the social security database is not de-duplicated, meaning you can have the same SSN many times over, which further enables MASSIVE FRAUD!! Your tax dollars are being stolen” which of course as you can imagine is complete and utter bullshit because de-duplication is not what he’s talking about (It’s a data storage technique, it has nothing to do with any kind of security) and it’s literally impossible to have unique numbers for every person forever because as anyone above the age of 15 should be able to work out there’s only so many unique numbers to give out and being that people die and are born, that finite number of course gets filled up.

Many people responded to Musk explaining the fact that he doesn’t know what de-duplication is and why he’s full of shit but of course, his and Tr*mp’s base don’t care about facts, they just trust their favourite billionaires because they’ve been fed bullshit for years about how every problem they have in the world is because of this vague idea of “the Democrats”, immigrants or the classic fascist scapegoat communism!

A Twitter user named James Rosen-Birch (Sorry don’t have his full handle just his name set on there) said “TIL Elon has never used SQL” and Elon couldn’t help himself but to make himself look even dumber by saying “This r*tard thinks the government uses SQL”… further cementing that he doesn’t know what any of this means and the only people he can convince that he’s a genius are those that don’t know about whatever topic he’s pretending to know about.

For those that don’t know shit about computers, the government absolutely does use SQL and he’s a dumbass. He also said that when “examining social security” that there are people in there that “are 150 years old”. This is another case of not actually understanding what you’re looking at but since you want to be the only unelected bureaucrat and you got rid of those whose job it was to look at things like this rather than your ignorant ass, how are you supposed to know?

The USA’s social security system uses an old language named COBOL which doesn’t directly support date and time, so they have to be converted to COBOL character representation. One of the formats used ISO 8601 but if you don’t know the date, it’s going to default to a year that isn’t actually their birth date, like 1875. I’m not extremely experienced on this particular thing myself but got this info from @niniandthebrain so I’m not saying that everyone would know this, but if you’re being given the reigns to the entire country’s data and posturing as if you understand everything enough to make cuts to very important services in the country you better make sure you understand the very basics of what those in these positions have understood the entire time.

Msk and his teenage mutant ninja virgins are wildly unqualified for the job they’re being given and it’s obvious to anyone with even a basic understanding of anything Msk ever talks about in detail that he is nothing more than a rich grifter that thinks he’s way better than he is at everything in the world. Now how about we make fun of him for something less existentially terrifying and depressing?

Richest Man In The World Lies About Gaming Ability

A little while ago Msk got on the Joe Rogan Podcast and yapped about how he was not only one of the best players currently in Diablo, but also in Quake. The only person that is even slightly known in the Quake community that has ever seen him play the game was Thresh (WASD pioneer) and while you could clearly tell he was trying not to offend Msk in case anything got back to him (I think we all know that he’s right that he would have been) he very clearly said that M*sk just played in a public server he frequented in an old Quake game and that he was not very good.

M*sk framed it very differently of course by saying that he was “one of the best players in the world” Quake at one point and if I didn’t already know he was a pathological liar and a grifter I’d have known right then and there from that alone that he was. I’ve been into Quake since I was a little kid and I’ve especially been into paying attention the competitive side of the game. It isn’t the sort of game that has top level players just go under the radar like that. The top level players are all extremely well documented about as the community is very passionate and hard working. Musk is lying, again.

Fast forward things a little bit to present day and a few months ago this dipshit decided to tell everyone that he was one of the top ranked Path of Exile 2 players on an account that in order to be him playing he would have to have been doing next to nothing else since the release of PoE2, effectively working more than a full time job to do so. In this case what shows that he’s a dipshit rather than just a liar is that he actually decided to get on Twitter and livestream him playing on the character for a little bit and in doing so he showed everyone that has ever played a game even remotely like it that he isn’t the person playing the account.

This post isn’t for me to go into detail about the specifics of what he did wrong that showed that, but there are hundreds of videos showing it very very clearly on YouTube if you so wish to find that out. Just know that this isn’t an accusation it’s an absolute certainty that he was lying. He then came out a bit later down the line and said that he had someone play on the account to level it up and made up some bullshit excuse but he’d already shown that he wasn’t just sharing accounts and 100% had no idea what the fuck he was doing.

I won’t even bother going over his horrendous Elden Ring build that everyone made fun of years ago either but my point of this section in general is to say that even the richest man alive still wants you to think he’s a super genius. So much so that he’ll lie about something as unimportant as his ability to play games. He can’t even just say he enjoys the games in a way that people may find relateable because his ego can’t take being told he’s anything but the greatest at everything.

Back To Existential Dread

Him and people like him are a huge threat to the world we live in and I don’t mean the power structures that exist, I mean the things we hold dear and value in the world. The guy did a fucking Nazi salute on stage twice during Tr*mp’s inauguration and there are thousands of people acting as if he didn’t entirely because they’ve had mountains of propaganda shot into their brains for years about how the real threat is just anything remotely left leaning. Compassion and empathy has been put on the wayside and things are being pushed further than further towards techno-fascism.

He then virtually attented an event/meeting with the AfD who are such a right wing party in Germany that even the other far right parties don’t want to be associated with them through fear of being called Nazis. Of course in Germany being a Nazi is illegal, so said party always tries to keep plausible deniability but it’s blatantly obvious if you look into them for just a little bit.

I think it’s important that those of us that see the reality of this situation keep pointing out how these billionaires are not geniuses and are often good at nothing but exploitation and swindling people into believing in things about them and others that aren’t true. No billionaire exists that has your best interests at heart and if they did, they wouldn’t be a billionaire.

Aaaaaaand Back To Me!

Alright now that I’ve had a bit of a rant about that dipshit (my current favourite word btw) let’s get back to explaining what my plan is for the stream and my “content” as a whole. I’ve been designing on stream, I wrote this blog post on stream, I’ve been gaming on stream and I’ve been continuing to have long form conversations with creative people on my podcast… on stream. I intend to work harder than I ever have this year and so far so good.

There’s a lot more I can’t show you quite yet so if the start of this year is anything to go by, by the end of the year I’ll have hundreds of new designs and updates to show you.

I’m going to finish a write up about “AI” soon and after playing the majority of Final Fantasy VII Remake I also have some strong opinions about the addition of “whispers” in that game so I’ll probably write something up about that too. I had so many things I want to tell you about here, but I’ve written enough for this particular blog post so stay tuned instead!
